Hostel The Hague -The Golden Stork
Online – Bookings can only be made online or at reception, where payment needs to take place directly. Bookings through thegoldenstork.com can be cancelled up to 72 hours before arrival.
No refunds will be given in any case of cancellation. Checking out before the end of the booked period will not lead to refunds.
Check-in is from 15:00 until 22:00.
ID – Check-in can only be completed if guest shows a valid Passport/ ID card or drivers licence. Any other forms of ID are not accepted.
Staff hold the right to refuse any check-in if they are not comfortable with the person checking in (e.g.: in case of intoxication, rudeness, not able to pay, not comply with the house rules or if for any other reason not suitable for our safe and friendly environment). Payment is upon arrival by cash, credit cards, or Maestro
Deposit – We ask a €10 deposit for the key, cash only! You will get this back if the key is handed back in working conditions to reception upon check-out. In case of damage to property or misbehaving, this deposit will not be returned.
Tourism taxes are not included – the tourist tax in The Hague €4,60 per person per night. This always needs to be paid upon arrival. Any other fees for booking websites other than ours are already included in the total room price.
Breakfast is not included – breakfast is available for €6 per person per day. The reception is open from 8:00 till 22:00. There is a night entrance around the corner which you can use after check-in, in case you get back late! Please give our cleaners some space when they are cleaning the rooms and facilities. This only benefits your stay!
3 DURING THE STAY
Misbehaving – stealing; any form of harassment; any kind of racism; using drugs or smoking in the hostel (please also roll joints outside or go the coffeeshop around the corner!); keeping others awake after 10pm; causing damage to property; causing any kind of problems that need interference or refusing to follow staff orders, might lead to withholding key deposit or to being removed from the premises. Police will be called in any case of serious misbehaving.
The hostel is not responsible for any damages or loss to personal belongings. Guests can store their valuables in lockers or behind reception if desired. Please respect your fellow travellers!
Visitors – Only paying guests are allowed in the allocated rooms. Visitors are welcome in the bar area until closing time (10pm).
No pets are allowed in this hostel.
Long stay –A maximum of 2 weeks is allowed, if wished, sheets can be changed once a week, free of charge.
Stay shorter than 1 week: €3,- per new set of sheets if you wish to change them.
4 CHECK OUT
Check out before noon– We kindly ask you to have your check out completed by 12:00pm. Check out includes: return of the room key, vacate the room and leave sheets in pillowcase: before 12:00pm. Staff hold the rights to remove belongings from the room if guest has failed to check out in time.
Extending stay – Extending is only possible if beds are available and if organised with reception before 12:00pm. Current dorm rates are available at reception, on our website or on other booking websites. Staff hold the rights to deny extension of stay for same reasons mentioned at “check in” section.

If guest fails to pick up luggage the same day, a €5 storage fee applies for any following day.
